I was on board, thinking this would be half mystery and half fun summer beach story. And, all of a sudden, I know why my luck has been so bad. It has nothing to do with my dad leaving and everything to do with me stealing this stuff. The universe is trying to settle the score.
I put all of the items back into the shoebox, handling them as gently as if they were grenades. This time, I don’t bury the box at the back of my closet. Just My Luck by Andrea Bramhall is a great story that brings together two of my favourite themes: friends becoming lovers and an age gap romance.
While it’s tempting to just call it hilarious (and so much of it is), the humour is balanced with serious themes and good character growth, resulting in. Just My Rotten Luck.
